About the city of Brighton:

Brighton is an attractive city situated in the south coast of England, in the County of East Sussex and almost due south of the city of London. The city a popular destination of people from London who loves media and music but don't want to live in the capital city of United Kingdom. It is sometimes referred to as “London-by-the-Sea” for reason that it is less than an hour travel by train from the city.

Brighton was called Bristelmestune in the Domesday Book, a record of the great survey of England in 1086. During a war between England and France in year 1514, Brighthelmstone was burned to the ground by French raiders leaving only part of the St Nicholas Church and the area known as “The Lanes” in survival. The rise of the city began in the 1940's Dr. Richard Russel of Lewes began prescribing seawater. The development of the fishing village had started and soon became the fashionable resort of Brighton. The growth of the town was further encouraged by the patronage of late King George IV who spent much of his spare time in the town. He founded and established the Royal Pavilion during his early reign and is now one of the famous landmarks of the city of Brighton.

Brighton is a famous seaside resort on the south coast of England. The city's seafront has bars, restaurants, nightclubs and amusement arcades to entertain visitors. The eastern part of Brighton's seafront has been developed since the demolition of the open air lido at Black Rock in 1978 and now houses one of Europe's largest marinas. Further development is planned in the area.

Brighton is also well-known for having a large number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community making it “the gay capital of Britain”. Communities are served by bars and nightclubs sprawling around the city. As a matter of fact, the Gay Pride carnival which is held every month of August in the city attract thousands of visitors. The carnival consists of parade and a party and funfair in Preston Park.
